CORPORATE FASHION COLLABORATION WITH GASANZAMMIT

A FASHIONABLE UNIFORM UPGRADE WITH LOCAL INSPIRATION
As part of their 10th Anniversary, GasanZammit wanted to celebrate this milestone by giving their staff at the Automotive and Marine company showroom in Mrieħel, a more contemporary and sophisticated uniform. When Carolyn Zammit, Director of Marketing at GasanZammit, approached me to design the new uniform scarves and ties, I was immediately intrigued! Once some basic requirements were discussed, I started sketching and experimenting with different ideas, enjoying full artistic license. The concept and design I finally settled for takes its inspiration from the Maltese cement tiles. I opted for a particular pattern and reinterpreted it in various ways and proportions in shades of light blue and a tan colour to complement the blue uniforms of GasanZammit.
It is commendable that a local organisation chose a local artist and designer to add colour and pattern to their corporate image! But it goes even beyond this. Quoting Ms Zammit: “The idea behind this project was to promote the legacy of our local artists. The design of Maltese cement tiles triggers the importance of local heritage hence injecting more local pride amongst our employees.”
It has been a real delight working on this project. I thank GasanZammit for their trust, and I hope that other organisations follow suit!
