A BLEND OF COFFEE, LOCAL HERITAGE AND CONTEMPORARY DESIGN
We can finally spill the beans ~ The Collection of 4 Limited Edition Cups & Saucers I designed for Nescafé is now available!
The story started around two years ago, when Nescafé first approached me with the idea to work on this project together. The Malta team at Nescafé are familiar with how my work has, throughout these past 15 years, focused on local heritage, and how I have reinterpreted our traditions into a contemporary lifestyle brand. So for this collaboration, they asked me to come up with a concept which also reflects our culture. After discussing some basics, I was given full artistic freedom to design this collection that pays tribute to Nescafé’s rich history by adopting retro tile design elements and colours which were popular around a century ago, when the brand was first launched in Malta.
The final design is both nostalgic and contemporary which reminds us of our timeless traditions and culture, and will look stylish in any home, whether classic or contemporary.
It has been a real delight working on this project and seeing it all come to life, including the custom-design packaging for each cup and saucer. I thank Nescafé for this commission and for entrusting me to design this Limited Edition Collection ~ now make sure you get hold of a set!
